Malegno (BS)

PRODUCTION UNITS

The Malegno plant is the oldest among the three Riva Acciaio plants in the Camonica valley, an area with a long steel tradition where blacksmithing has been practised since prehistoric times and that was a true “industrial steel district” for a century. The plant was built in the 1930s under the name of Società Elettrosiderurgica di Valle Camonica (SELVA); in the 1960s. Riva Acciaio first became a minority shareholder and then took charge of operations. The Group finally took full control over the Malegno plant in the 1990s. Production consists mainly of drawn, peeled, ground steel bars intended for case-hardening and tempering, for general use and improved machinability, as well as square and flat drawn reinforcing steel and commercial and special length bars. The end products are employed in several sectors, including the automotive industry.

With the certifications UNI EN ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), UNI EN ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) UNI ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) and IATF 16949 for the manufacturing of carbon and alloy steel bars through drawing, peeling and grinding for the automotive sector, the plant can guarantee the necessary product quality, environmental protection and, above all, the protection of workers' health and safety.
