Billets and blooms with square cross section are semi-products of the continuous casting process. Billets and blooms are manufactured in a wide range of grades, either to be used in the hot rolling manufacturing process or directly in hot die-pressing and forging to produce semi-rolls and flanges. Generally, by blooms we intend semi-products with 160 mm per side or more. Billets are smaller sized than blooms.
